I've written a new version of the greasemonkey script for connecting
the DOIs on table of contents pages and chemical blogspace. This one
has a bit more 'wow' to it. :-) It is best explained by the screenshot
at the bottom of:

Thanks. I'm not online so cannot try this out on my machine.

I announced the greasemonkey at the session yesterday and there was
certainly interest. However it was slightly dampened by the fact that (a) I
couldn't use the internet - despite having asked several times and (b) the
projector failed in the midlle of my talk so I had to describe it in words.
I am not sure that in the confusion I gave you public credit - so
apologies.

I'm looking forward to meeting on Tuesday. One thing I would like to
promote is the use of the Blue Obelisk in our activties. Yes, I haven't
done anything yet either. This could be in readme files, an additional logo
on the home page of software, etc., links from our home pages.

Any suggestions before the meeting...

There is a logo available on:

A good way to promote Blue Obelisk would be to have a link to BO papers.

This week, I'm installing a Free Software for chemical library management
(CLM) at Toronto SGC group. It use JChemPaint and Jmol applets. I'll add
links to the software websites and to BO home page on this CLM system.

Cheers,

Incredible - what a great idea.

I used to be a keen MOOer - we used (and built in) BIOMOO. It had a great
2D interface and that was 1995. So I am tempted - after all - to have a try
ar 2L. The idea of having a virtual place really appeals.

The greasemonkey has gone down really well (thanks Noel) and may have
catalysed some contribution from an unlikely source. We may know more at
end of tomorrow. I think a monkey climing up the obelisk would be a great
metaphor.

We had a really good dinner in Chicago. Two Blue (sic) Obelisks (sic)
decided they wanted to find owners who were:
* Egon Willighagen - for services to CDK, Jmol and lots else while doing a PhD.
* Jean Claude Bradley for services to promoting all sorts of Openness
and being brave enough to do it.

JC wasn't physically present so we hope we shall have photographic
evidence of the transfer.

JC was not in the CINF session in the morning, but fortunately ran into
him in the hallway when heading back to the hotel. We handed him the BO
officially, and Christoph took pictures.
